Messenger, Messenger (a child's book)

Robert Burleigh has published over 30 children's books, poems, films, reviews, and essays throughout the past 35 years. He also enjoys painting.
This book is about someone who delivers packages throughout a big city. It discusses how he picks up packages and brings them to the correct person. He does all of this on a bike. Sometimes he runs into obstacles or problems. This is a good book to help your child to know what a postman or mail carrier does, and how we get our mail.
I had the opportunity to read this book with a kindergarten class. The students were able to ask questions about why he had to do certain things to get the package from one place to another. Although, our mail carriers do not have to go around on a bike I still believe this helps get the ideas with students to better understand what it is they do.
